Job Overview

As a pivotal member of the quality assurance team, you will oversee the implementation of a comprehensive QA program tailored to our products and services. Your role will involve collaborating with various stakeholders to establish and uphold software quality benchmarks throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC).

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with business, product, and development teams across all phases of the SDLC, ensuring alignment on business requirements and functional specifications.
  • Design and execute robust test plans for new systems, enhancements, and issue resolutions.
  • Analyze system requirements and technical specifications to develop and implement test cases effectively.
  • Document, assess, and monitor testing outcomes to guarantee that applications are devoid of defects.
  • Actively contribute to quality assurance meetings, including walk-throughs, inspections, and user group discussions.
  • Participate in the verification of production implementations, ensuring system quality is validated.
  • Collaborate with project teams to establish metrics and methodologies for evaluating software quality.
  • Review products and services for compliance with quality assurance standards and government regulations.
  • Manage defect entries in the defect tracking system.
  • Develop and maintain automated testing scripts where applicable.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Advanced Tester Certification (TTA, TA, and/or TM) is preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience in Information Technology, including requirements development, programming, software testing, and technical writing.
Essential Skills
  • Familiarity with CMMI Level II/III, IEEE standards, SDLC methodologies, and automation testing tools.
  • Experience in customer support within a government environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with varying instructions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on conflict resolution.
  • Capability to work across diverse disciplines.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
  • Demonstrated initiative and composure in high-pressure situations.
  • Aptitude for conveying technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Basic understanding of programming, object-oriented principles, and database fundamentals.
  • Experience with integrated test management tools for defect tracking and requirements traceability.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Team-oriented mindset.
  • Familiarity with unit testing and automated testing is advantageous.
