Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Analyst to oversee the execution of a comprehensive quality assurance (QA) program that supports our products and services. This role involves collaborating with various teams to establish software quality standards throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC).

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with business, product, and development teams during all phases of the SDLC, including gathering business requirements, creating functional specifications, and conducting integration and regression testing using contemporary testing methodologies and tools.
  • Develop and implement effective test plans for new systems, enhancements, and issue resolutions.
  • Analyze system requirements and technical specifications to design and execute test cases, ensuring thorough documentation.
  • Plan, document, assess, and monitor testing outcomes to confirm that system applications are devoid of defects.
  • Actively participate in walkthroughs, inspections, reviews, and user group meetings to uphold quality assurance standards.
  • Contribute to production implementation verification and take responsibility for validating system quality.
  • Collaborate with project teams to establish quantitative metrics and techniques for assessing software quality.
  • Review and assess products and services for compliance with government directives, standards, and guidelines related to quality assurance.
  • Document defects in the defect tracking tool and maintain automated testing scripts where applicable.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Certification as an Advanced Level Tester (TTA, TA, and/or TM) is preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience in Information Technology, including requirements development, programming, software testing, technical writing, and customer support.
Additional Skills
  • Familiarity with CMMI Level II/III, IEEE, or other software development standards, SDLC methodologies, and automation frameworks and testing tools, including defect tracking.
  • Experience in customer support, particularly in a government context.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while adhering to varying project instructions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with conflict resolution capabilities.
  • Capacity to work across diverse disciplines.
  • Proficiency in SQL Database Language and Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
  • High initiative and the ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to convey knowledge and translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Basic understanding of programming, object-oriented concepts, database fundamentals, and SQL.
  • Experience with integrated test management tools for defect tracking, test case management, and requirements traceability.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with unit tests and automated testing is advantageous.
