Job Summary:

The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking an Administrative Coordinator I to join the Department of Otolaryngology. This role will provide administrative support to department physicians, including faculty with Health System leadership roles, and perform various administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to department physicians, including complex coordination of meetings and leadership-related activities.
  • Perform special projects, including those related to departmental clinical, academic, and research administration.
  • Prioritize and respond to electronic messages from department physicians, other department physicians, and patients via the EPIC/MyChart platform.
  • Oversee timekeeping of bi-weekly staff and manage and approve timecards for department staff.
  • Maintain divisional calendars, including creating meetings, coordinating conference rooms, and coordinating meetings for physician-to-physician consults.

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma and four years of relevant experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services.
  • A bachelor's degree and two years of experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform job functions in an upright position.
  • Ability to perform job functions in a seated position.
  • Ability to work indoors.
