Join Our Team as a Senior Engineering Technician

The National Security Sector of 00100 LEIDOS, INC. offers a remarkable opportunity for a Senior Engineering Technician. This role is integral to our operations, overseeing a specific product line at the Navy Array Technical Support Center (NATSC). You will play a crucial role in supervising repair and assembly activities, ensuring optimal resource utilization, compliance with work instructions, and adherence to quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and evaluate repair line progress, providing insights and recommendations for line loading.
  • Represent the product line in regular production meetings, contributing to strategic discussions.
  • Assess technical documents, including drawings and work instructions, ensuring their adequacy and applicability.
  • Draft interim procedures to maintain system readiness while formal recommendations are reviewed.
  • Conduct complex assignments, managing projects of limited scope or segments of larger initiatives.
  • Analyze technical data to address design challenges, preparing detailed specifications and layouts.
  • Determine testing requirements and conduct evaluations using various instruments, compiling reports on findings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and integrate technical efforts.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in electronics repair or equivalent technical training.
  • Proven experience in supervising and mentoring technicians in operational procedures.
  • Familiarity with CMPro document control systems.
  • Experience with NATSC Depot Application (NDA) and Towed Array Management System (TAMS).
  • Expertise in performing electronic repairs at the component level, adhering to quality standards.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD secret level clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced technical degree is advantageous.
  • In-depth knowledge of Solid State Heading Sensors.
  • Completion of soldering training, including SMT/SMD.
  • Operational experience with industrial equipment, including sand blasting and PLC systems.
  • Proficient in standard computer operations, Microsoft Office, and programming software.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with sound judgment and initiative.

This position is governed by the Service Contract Act, with a competitive hourly rate.
