Position Overview

The National Security Sector of 00100 LEIDOS, INC. is seeking a Senior Engineering Technician to provide support for our specialized contract. The successful candidate will oversee a dedicated product line at a prominent technical support center. This role involves supervising repair and assembly operations, ensuring optimal resource utilization, compliance with operational guidelines, and maintaining quality standards while adhering to production timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and assess repair line activities, providing guidance to junior technicians.
  • Assist in forecasting production progress and make informed recommendations regarding line operations.
  • Represent the product line in regular production meetings and address any operational challenges.
  • Evaluate technical documentation for completeness and accuracy, proposing solutions for any identified discrepancies.
  • Draft interim procedures to ensure system readiness while awaiting formal approvals.
  • Conduct detailed analyses of technical data to inform design decisions and prepare necessary documentation.
  • Determine testing requirements and conduct evaluations using various instruments, compiling comprehensive reports on findings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and integrate efforts.

Basic Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in electronics repair or equivalent technical training.
  • Proven experience in supervising and mentoring technical staff.
  • Familiarity with document control systems and specific applications related to technical support.
  • Expertise in performing electronic repairs at the component level, adhering to established quality standards.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a DOD secret level clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced technical degree or equivalent training.
  • Knowledge of Solid State Heading Sensors.
  • Completion of soldering training, including SMT/SMD.
  • Experience with industrial equipment operations.
  • Proficiency in standard computer applications and programming software.
  • Ability to work independently with sound judgment and initiative.

This position is governed by the Service Contract Act and offers competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications.
