Position Overview
Eligibility: Candidates must be U.S. Citizens and possess a Secret Clearance.

Educational Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related scientific field from an accredited institution is required.

Professional Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in a related engineering role is essential. Proven expertise in the relevant engineering domain is necessary.

Role Responsibilities:
As part of the team, you will provide support primarily to the PMA-263 ISR Services initiatives. Your contributions will include Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) support for various Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) platforms.

Key Duties Include:
  • Assisting in the design, development, and implementation of UAS ship installations.
  • Facilitating the creation of courses of action (COAs), Ship Installation Drawings (SIDs), and conducting technical, operational, and logistical risk assessments.
  • Collaborating with engineering departments from MSC/NAVSEA/PY and ship Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) on installations and repairs.
  • Developing system view drawings and ad hoc SIDs.
  • Creating Computer-Aided Design (CAD) schematics.
  • Supporting the lead Government ship integrator in the preparation of Initial Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs) for ship alterations.
  • Assisting with responses to Fleet/OPNAV Requests For Information (RFIs) related to UAS support.
  • Contributing to the generation and revision of Statements of Work (SOWs) and Performance-Based Work Specifications (PBWS) for contracting purposes.
  • Supporting Government Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) during technical evaluations and program reviews with UAS vendor OEMs.
  • Assisting in the development and execution of overseas deliberate and emergency UAS/ship repair strategies.
  • Providing support during UAS ship installation trials.

HWIL Support Responsibilities:
  • Assisting the HWIL facility lead in managing HWIL operations.
  • Gaining familiarity with the design and operational aspects of all UAS platforms supported by the HWIL.
  • Supporting troubleshooting efforts for UAS platform technical challenges.
  • Assisting in the integration of technology onto UAS platforms.
  • Supporting the prototyping of hardware necessary for successful UAS technology integration.
  • Conducting verification and validation (V&V) activities at various levels including component, sub-system, and system.
  • Helping develop documentation to support the deployment of system updates, including operations, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting manuals.
  • Participating in PMA engineering meetings by providing insights into HWIL activities and technical contributions related to UAS platforms and integration efforts.

Required Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication abilities are essential. The candidate should be capable of effectively collaborating with a team, both internally and with remote industry partners. Self-motivation and the ability to adapt quickly to a dynamic environment are crucial. Familiarity with ship design and aircraft support requirements is preferred, along with experience in ship underway testing and processes.

Travel Requirements:
Travel will be necessary, approximately twice per quarter.
