The Flooring Sales Support Specialist plays a vital role in assisting the sales team within the commercial flooring sector. This position is designed for individuals eager to enhance their skills and knowledge in the flooring industry, focusing on Storr's extensive product and service offerings. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proactive approach, creativity, meticulous attention to detail, and exceptional communication skills with both the sales team and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct product research and selection to support sales initiatives.
  • Engage in site visits and customer meetings to foster relationships.
  • Prepare proposals, presentations, and bid responses to meet client needs.
  • Gather and organize vendor information to streamline processes.
  • Coordinate projects with end users to ensure successful execution.
  • Develop estimating skills to assist the primary estimator, including performing material takeoffs for specific projects.
  • Regularly visit field projects to monitor progress and address any issues.
  • Effectively follow up on any discrepancies related to assigned projects, demonstrating problem-solving abilities.
  • Complete all training objectives and cultivate the selling skills necessary for effective account management.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of Storr's internal systems and processes.
  • Meet quarterly goals and activities as outlined by management.
  • Enhance knowledge of Storr's marketed products and services.
  • Acquire the necessary product knowledge and selling skills to transition into an account manager role within a specified timeframe.
  • Input sales activities into the CRM and coordinate order fulfillment for booked orders.
  • Achieve targeted customer satisfaction scores and accuracy metrics.
  • Understand pricing practices and margin goals within the division.
  • Establish a structured plan for weekly sales activities.
  • Master fundamental selling skills, including:
    • Sales prospecting and networking
    • Qualifying sales opportunities
    • Managing initial calls
    • Presenting product solutions
    • Closing sales
    • Account management
Required Skills and Competencies:
  • Proficient in interpreting AutoCAD drawings.
  • Experience with Hedberg Software.
  • Ability to learn Callidus estimating software.
  • Capability to provide valuable knowledge-based consulting that distinguishes Storr.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated creativity and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Comfortable discussing budgets, estimates, contracts, and margins.
  • Enjoys engaging with clients and participating in sales discussions.
  • Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
