Position Overview:

The role of the Machine Operator is crucial in the manufacturing process, where you will be responsible for operating various machinery, including blow-mold, grinders, trimmer machines, and conveyor systems. This entry-level position requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting process issues and performing minor maintenance to ensure the smooth operation of the production line.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to corporate and plant safety standards, as well as comply with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Operate blow-mold machines to produce high-quality bottles, conducting audits, weights, and quality checks as necessary.
  • Follow quality control measures and blow-mold process procedures diligently.
  • Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on blow-mold and support equipment.
  • Make necessary adjustments to meet product specifications effectively.
  • Gain exposure to preventive maintenance and mechanical changes.
  • Grind excess bottles and materials to maintain efficiency.
  • Document equipment repairs and prepare maintenance request forms.
  • Compile daily production reports, including rejects, regrinds, and line efficiencies.
  • Other duties as assigned by management, which may vary based on equipment and plant design.
  • Receive instructions on specific tasks from the Lead Operator or Supervisor, with assistance provided for unusual problems.

Experience:

  • Basic mathematical skills are essential.
  • Familiarity with basic computer operations is required.

Education:

  • A High School diploma or equivalent (GED) is preferred.

Training:

  • Completion of Altium Machine Operator I training within 90 days of hire is necessary.

Physical Demands:

This position requires the ability to stand, walk, use hands for handling, and reach with arms regularly. Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling may be necessary. Frequent lifting and/or moving of up to 50 pounds is expected.

Work Environment:

Employees will be exposed to moving mechanical parts in a production setting, with a typically loud noise level. Temperature fluctuations may occur based on seasonal changes, and personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory in designated areas.
