Position Overview:
As a proficient Production Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for the operation of various machinery including blow-mold, grinders, trimmer machines, and conveyor systems. Your role will involve troubleshooting process challenges and executing minor maintenance tasks to ensure the seamless functioning of the production line. Adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices is essential in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive directives from the Lead Operator or Supervisor regarding specific tasks and seek assistance for complex issues.
- Demonstrate proficiency in entry-level Machine Operator skills and possess the ability to mentor Level-1 Machine Operators.
- Maintain compliance with quality control standards and blow molding process protocols.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to effectively troubleshoot and resolve operational issues.
- Implement preventive maintenance procedures to uphold equipment functionality.
- Execute fundamental Machine Operator tasks, ensuring critical processing outputs are maintained, including adjustments to parisons, tail settings, regrind levels, and weight controls.
- Consistently operate two production lines.
- Conduct repairs or replacements of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Assist with preventive maintenance, mold alterations, neck and blow pin adjustments, and other mechanical modifications.
- Address and resolve process issues as they occur.
- Work collaboratively across multiple platforms and train entry-level Machine Operators, as needed.
- Efficiently manage color changes with minimal product loss.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands for this role include regular standing, walking, and using hands for handling and reaching. Occasionally, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling may be required. The role also involves frequently lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment:
In this position, you will be exposed to moving mechanical components within a production setting. The noise level is typically loud, and temperatures may vary based on seasonal changes. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory in designated areas.
