Position Overview:

The role of the Program Assistant involves providing essential administrative support for various virtual events. Responsibilities include:

  • Setting up event registration platforms and managing Zoom webinars.
  • Uploading recorded sessions to designated platforms.

Marketing and Communication:

Assist in promoting events through:

  • Creating engaging visuals and social media content for platforms like LinkedIn.
  • Updating the Alumni Career & Professional Development website.

Data Management:

Support data collection and analysis by:

  • Inputting attendance and engagement metrics into various systems.
  • Exporting relevant data from event management tools.

Email Management:

Monitor and respond to inquiries in the Alumni Career & Professional Development email inbox, including:

  • Providing information about services offered.
  • Assigning tasks to volunteer coaches and escalating inquiries as necessary.

Community Engagement:

Manage the DU Alumni LinkedIn group by:

  • Approving membership requests.
  • Sharing content that highlights programming opportunities.

Process Improvement:

Collaborate with the Director to enhance operational procedures for the above functions.

For Level II Program Assistants:

In addition to the responsibilities outlined, Level II Assistants will:

  • Address common job search inquiries.
  • Review and provide feedback on alumni resumes.
  • Create resources to aid alumni in their job search efforts.
  • Co-facilitate programming initiatives.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Current undergraduate or graduate student at DU.
  • Experience in customer service or related fields.

Preferred:

  • Interest or experience in event planning and marketing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and adaptability to new software.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to work at a computer for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.

Work Schedule:

Flexible hours preferred, with a commitment of 8 to 15 hours per week during peak business hours.

Compensation:

This position requires a federal work-study award. Compensation is set at $19 per hour, with paid leave accrued in accordance with applicable regulations.
