Amergis is seeking a skilled Behavioral Support Specialist to provide behavioral support services in a school setting. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and other school staff.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide personal care and behavioral assistance/interventions to assigned students.
- Assist students with daily living activities, including grooming, eating, and toileting.
- Support students with ambulation and transfer services.
- Manage assault/difficult behavior and implement crisis intervention strategies.
- Encourage independence and maintain student safety.
- Implement behavioral plans and document care per Amergis policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and other school staff.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Associates degree in behavioral studies or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Full command, verbal and written, of the English language.
- Current Health Certificate (if applicable).
- Current CPR card.
- Current TB Skin test or Chest X-ray.
- Successful completion of Company testing process.
