Position Overview:

The Student Employment Program Coordinator plays a vital role in enhancing the professional development of student employees through effective programming and support. This position is focused on fostering an inclusive and equitable work environment for all student staff and their supervisors.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and facilitate engaging workplace presentations each quarter for student employees and their supervisors, which includes content creation, technical support, and evaluation of learning outcomes.
  • Oversee the application and award process for the Student Employee & Supervisor of the Year, collaborating with the Student Employment team to celebrate outstanding contributions.
  • Conduct research on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within higher education to inform and enhance programming and resources related to career development.
  • Review and approve student employment job postings to ensure they meet compliance and accessibility standards.
  • Draft and manage communications regarding student employment processes and guidelines.
  • Assist in organizing student employment job fairs and related events, ensuring smooth logistics and effective communication.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

Required:

  • Demonstrated interest or background in higher education, DEI, student development, or career advancement.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse groups.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and respectfully with individuals from various backgrounds.
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Discretion in handling sensitive information.

Preferred:

  • Experience in public speaking and group facilitation, particularly on DEI topics.
  • Familiarity with program planning or event management.
  • Interest in assessment methods and application processes.
  • Proficiency in video conferencing tools and basic multimedia editing.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to perform tasks that include prolonged computer use and occasional movement around the office environment.
