Position Overview: The Student Employment Program Coordinator plays a vital role in enhancing the experience of student employees and their supervisors through effective programming and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and facilitate engaging workplace presentations each quarter for student employees and their supervisors, which includes content creation, technical support, and evaluation of learning outcomes.
- Oversee the application and award process for the Student Employee & Supervisor of the Year, collaborating with the Student Employment team to honor outstanding contributions.
- Conduct research on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) principles in higher education to inform programming and resources aimed at career development.
- Review and approve student employment job postings to ensure compliance and accessibility.
- Draft and manage communications related to student employment processes and guidelines.
- Assist in the planning and execution of student employment job fairs and related events.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrated interest or background in higher education, DEI, student development, and career development.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse audiences.
- Attention to detail and ability to analyze complex information.
- Creative problem-solving skills and leadership capabilities in addressing evolving challenges.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in public speaking and group facilitation, particularly on DEI topics.
- Background in program planning or event management.
- Familiarity with assessment methods and application processes.
- Experience with digital communication tools and platforms.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.
- Occasional movement around the office/campus, including the ability to transport objects up to 20 lbs.
