Role Overview: The Senior System Administrator is responsible for ensuring optimal server, network, and workstation availability across all company offices nationwide. This position requires the development and demonstration of expertise in the essential functions outlined below.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage server operations
  • Build, configure, support, and update Windows Servers: 2016, 2019, 2022
  • Oversee Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, and Print Services
  • Establish and maintain backup systems utilizing Veeam and Backup Exec / ViceVersa
  • Handle file archiving and restoration processes
  • Administer Microsoft SQL database servers
  • Design, implement, and customize OS deployments and software solutions
  • Manage Microsoft CA / PKI
  • Networking tasks including basic firewall, switch, routing, and VLAN configurations
  • Administer iSCSI networking (SAN / NAS)
  • Oversee VMWare virtual networking
  • Manage virtualization tasks including vCenter and ESXI host management
  • Build, configure, and maintain VMWare VMs
  • Administer VMWare Virtual Desktop Infrastructure
  • Manage storage solutions including SAN and NAS
  • Oversee Windows NTFS and Share permissions
  • Administer Windows DFS and FSRM
  • Manage global and distributed file systems
  • Implement monitoring and automation solutions
  • Conduct hardware monitoring using SNMP, ESXI, and Dell
  • Deploy and configure RMM and monitoring tools
  • Automate software deployment processes
  • Utilize PowerShell for scripting and automation
  • General responsibilities include:
  • Taking initiative and solving problems with minimal supervision
  • Leading projects and teams as required
  • Working independently and collaboratively
  • Traveling nationally to set up and support office infrastructure as necessary
  • Creating and implementing support documentation and procedures
  • Troubleshooting technical user issues, including hardware, software, account, and printer problems
  • Setting up and supporting workstations and printers
  • Providing after-hours support for critical systems as needed
  • Training and mentoring support staff
  • Completing additional projects and tasks as assigned
  • Exhibiting excellent communication and customer service skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrating meticulous attention to detail.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in a corporate environment performing the essential functions of this role.
  • Experience with hardware from manufacturers such as Dell, HP, Cisco, Extreme, Konica, Toshiba, Oce, and Canon.
  • Proficiency in software including Windows Server, Windows 11 & 10, MS Office 365, and Active Directory.
  • Strong networking knowledge and comprehension.
  • Demonstrated technical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with Autodesk is advantageous.
  • Extensive Microsoft Windows desktop support experience, including software deployment, hardware troubleshooting, licensing management, imaging, workstation upgrades, and profile migrations.
