Electrical Project Engineer for Conveyor Systems

Position Summary: We are currently seeking a dedicated Project Engineer to join our Paint and Final Assembly division. This role focuses on overseeing the electrical aspects of conveyor projects, ensuring that all installations are executed efficiently and meet client specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Familiarize yourself with and implement Drr project execution protocols.
- Develop comprehensive electrical installation bid packages, including detailed scopes of work and specifications aligned with Drr standards and customer requirements.
- Collaborate with the purchasing department to evaluate bids and select suppliers.
- Coordinate with process and robotics teams to ensure seamless integration.
- Work closely with mechanical and electrical engineers to finalize conveyor process descriptions and safety layouts.
- Prepare and manage the Schedule of Values for installation work, assessing contractor progress and approving invoices.
- Provide regular updates on project status for inclusion in the master tracking schedule.
- Monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with bid documents and any associated changes.
- Participate in project coordination meetings as necessary.
- Prepare progress reports for clients as required.
- Travel as needed for client meetings and site support, with potential international travel for technical discussions and installations.
- Be prepared to work during shutdowns and weekends to meet project timelines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience with automotive conveyor systems in paint, body, or final assembly environments.
- Extensive experience with conveyor electrical controls and PLC programming.
- Proven track record in designing control panels and adhering to sizing specifications.
- Experience supervising large-scale conveyor installation projects.
- Knowledge of the National Electric Code and NFPA regulations for hazardous environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with SAP is advantageous.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and technical writing abilities.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
Physical Demands: The role may require occasional standing, walking, sitting, climbing stairs, and using hands and arms. The ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds may be necessary. Specific vision abilities required include close and distance vision.
