We are currently looking for a Senior Supplier Industrialization Engineer specializing in Electrical Distribution Systems Low Voltage (LV) to join our Corporate Supplier Industrialization Team.
The Corporate Supplier Industrialization team plays a crucial role in the rapid development of groundbreaking products. In this prominent position, the Senior Supplier Industrialization Engineer collaborates with Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Suppliers to devise strategies that meet challenging design specifications without compromising on quality.
Your Responsibilities:
- Oversee the complete supplier industrialization process for Electrical Distribution Systems Low Voltage components.
- Manage and direct the activities of assigned commodity Supplier Industrialization Engineers, establishing priorities and project assignments.
- Facilitate the sharing of lessons learned across programs and collaborate with Engineering to select qualified suppliers that align with Lucid's standards and timelines.
- Ensure comprehensive coverage by subsystem, leveraging technical expertise in alignment with Engineering.
- Act as the primary representative for your commodity supplier industrialization team, generating regular reports for senior management that detail supplier performance, objectives, risks, and improvement strategies.
- Enhance and oversee the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process with suppliers from initial design through to production.
- Lead design reviews to ensure manufacturing considerations (DFM/A) are integrated into the design phase and that quality expectations are clearly defined.
- Collaborate with suppliers on technical design elements and develop new manufacturing techniques as necessary to fulfill design requirements.
- Manage and track all supplier-related Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Change Management-Product Change Notifications (CM-PCNs).
- Work independently, making decisions that serve the best interests of Lucid Motors.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Incoming Quality, Material Planning, and Supplier Quality Engineers to address supplier quality issues effectively.
- Conduct supplier assessments, audits, and site inspections; develop and implement process improvement plans while monitoring performance metrics.
- Support system assembly builds, define incoming parts inspection procedures, and address build issues with suppliers for containment and long-term solutions.
- Willingness to travel 25-75% of the time to Lucid Motors and supplier locations globally, often on short notice.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in supplier industrialization engineering for Electrical Distribution Systems Low Voltage components.
- At least 3 years of experience in a managerial role leading a team of Supplier Industrialization Engineers.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting schematics and drawings, with a strong understanding of quality standards and specifications.
- Exceptional analytical skills, technical writing capabilities, and a thorough understanding of quality tools (IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, FMEA, DOE, DFM/A, GD&T, etc.).
- Preferred certifications include American Society for Quality and Six Sigma Black Belt.
- A collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills, a hands-on approach, and a data-driven mindset for problem-solving.
- A positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and adaptability to a dynamic work environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; familiarity with Smartsheet, JMP, Minitab, JIRA, and Tableau is advantageous.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering; a Master's degree is preferred or equivalent experience.
