Position Overview
The Strada Education Foundation is in search of a seasoned and strategic executive to lead our mission of enhancing the affordability of postsecondary education at the institutional level. As the Vice President of Institutional Affordability Initiatives (VP-IAI), you will be pivotal in formulating and implementing strategies that empower institutions to address the financial requirements of students from varied socioeconomic backgrounds. Your proficiency in institutional financial aid, enrollment management, and fiscal decision-making will be essential in promoting initiatives that improve affordability and foster student achievement.
Reporting Structure
You will report directly to the Senior Vice President of Affordability (SVP) and will be a vital member of the Postsecondary Education (PSE) team, collaborating to realize Strada's ambitious vision. Our strategic framework, anchored by a bold North Star, is committed to establishing an education and training ecosystem that provides equitable pathways to opportunity for all learners. In your role as VP-IAI, you will be crucial in advancing our Affordability strategic pillar, ensuring that institutions can adequately support the financial needs of students, thereby enhancing their routes to prosperity, including employment, economic mobility, and fulfilling lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Development and Execution (20%): Formulate, prioritize, and implement strategic initiatives aimed at bolstering institutional affordability in postsecondary education. Maintain expertise in institutional policies and practices related to affordability.
- Partnership Building (30%): Collaborate with higher education institutions and stakeholders to drive affordability initiatives. Cultivate and manage partnerships with postsecondary institutions and policymakers.
- Project Management (30%): Work with third-party consultants and internal stakeholders to manage projects and achieve internal objectives. Coordinate with strategic leaders to align PSE priorities.
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (20%): Support an inclusive workplace culture by engaging in diversity, equity, and inclusion activities. Collaborate with Human Resources to promote policies that attract and retain a diverse workforce.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in social science, education, public policy, or a related field preferred.
- 5-10 years of experience in postsecondary institutions or related areas, working closely with national and state-level experts.
- Experience with financial aid and enrollment management programs.
- Proven ability to design and execute institutional affordability strategies.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and leadership skills.
Travel Requirements
The VP for Institutional Affordability Initiatives should anticipate nationwide travel as part of their role in presenting research insights and engaging with various stakeholders.
