Job Title: Senior Vice President, Strategic Communications

USTelecom | The Broadband Association is seeking a highly skilled Senior Vice President of Strategic Communications to lead our communications efforts and amplify the association's voice in the national conversation about broadband and the future of connectivity.

About the Role:

The Senior Vice President – Strategic Communications will be responsible for developing and executing proactive, creative campaigns and communications strategies to educate policy makers on key issues and promote USTelecom's mission, agenda, visibility, leadership, and growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute communications plans aligning internal, external, and stakeholder communications with association priorities
  • Lead the association's communications team and engage regularly with media, industry, and other stakeholders to shape the national conversation about broadband
  • Promote and support the CEO and membership in reaching key audiences via targeted media opportunities, opinion pieces, and blogs
  • Translate complex communications policy issues into relatable, engaging messaging
  • Work closely with all teams to provide communications counsel and ensure message accuracy and consistency
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of communications/public affairs experience
  • Established relationships with tech, business, and policy media
  • Ability to thrive and succeed in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent writing, editing, and messaging skills
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently
