Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver food and beverage selections to guests in a knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful manner.

Core Duties:

  • Welcome all guests at their tables.
  • Address guest inquiries regarding the menu, wine selections, and venue details.
  • Inform guests about daily specials and provide recommendations.
  • Promote menu items, beverages, desserts, and more.
  • Anticipate and respond to guest needs proactively.
  • Handle guest concerns or complaints regarding food or service with a positive attitude and resolve issues effectively.
  • Organize and prioritize service according to the appropriate sequence.
  • Take orders for food, beverages, and bar items from guests and relay them to the kitchen and/or bar using the micros terminal.
  • Verify food orders before serving to ensure accuracy and presentation standards are met.
  • Serve food and beverages to tables efficiently.
  • Perform opening, running, and closing duties as per company policy.
  • Maintain visibility and atmosphere control by circulating through the work area during shifts.
  • Memorize menus and daily specials effectively.
  • Clear tables by removing dirty dishes and utensils once guests have finished.
  • Clean spills in the dining area or work environment promptly.
  • Adhere to safety and sanitation standards.
  • Prepare guest checks using the micros terminal and ensure accuracy.
  • Process payments through cash, credit card, or traveler's checks.
  • Stay informed about all music, promotional, or special events at the venue.
  • Assist fellow servers and staff as needed.
  • Be available to work during special events scheduled at the venue.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Valid CA Food Handlers Card.
  • 2-5 years of experience in high-volume restaurant operations.
  • Understanding of high-volume restaurant practices and responsible alcohol service.
  • Knowledge of standard food preparation and presentation.
  • Strong guest relations skills.
  • Familiarity with wine and liquor.
  • Ability to manage multiple tables efficiently while maintaining a friendly demeanor.
  • High School Diploma.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Point of Sales systems, preferably MICROS.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

  • Fast-paced, often loud, and dynamic working environment.
  • Position requires prolonged standing and mobility.
  • Must be able to lift or move up to 25 lbs using proper techniques.
