Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver food and beverage items to guests in a knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful manner.

Essential Duties:

  • Welcome all guests at their tables.
  • Address guest inquiries regarding the menu, beverage selections, and venue details.
  • Inform guests about daily specials and provide recommendations.
  • Encourage menu item sales, including beverages and desserts.
  • Anticipate and respond to guest needs proactively.
  • Handle guest concerns or complaints regarding food or service with a positive and friendly demeanor.
  • Organize and prioritize service according to established protocols.
  • Take orders for food and beverages and communicate them to the kitchen and bar via the micros terminal.
  • Verify food orders before serving to ensure accuracy and presentation.
  • Serve food and beverages to tables.
  • Perform opening, running, and closing duties as per company policy.
  • Maintain a clear line of sight and atmosphere control by circulating through the work area throughout the shift.
  • Memorize menus and daily specials.
  • Pre-bus tables by removing used plates and glasses once guests have finished.
  • Clean spills on tables and in the work area.
  • Adhere to safety and sanitation standards.
  • Prepare guest checks using the micros terminal and ensure accuracy.
  • Process payments through cash, credit card, or traveler's checks.
  • Stay informed about all music, promotional, or special events occurring in the venue.
  • Assist fellow servers and staff as necessary.
  • Be available to work during special events scheduled at the venue.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Valid CA Food Handlers Card.
  • 2-5 years of experience in high-volume restaurant operations.
  • Knowledge of high-volume restaurant practices and responsible alcohol service.
  • Understanding of standard food preparation and presentation.
  • Strong guest relations skills.
  • Familiarity with wine and liquor.
  • Ability to manage multiple tables efficiently while maintaining a friendly attitude and anticipating guest needs.
  • High School Diploma.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Point of Sales systems, preferably MICROS.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

  • Fast-paced, often loud, and stressful working environment.
  • Position requires prolonged standing and working on your feet.
  • Must be able to lift or move up to 25 lbs using proper techniques.
