Position Summary

We are looking for a Strategic Communications Specialist with a background in communications, strategic messaging, influence campaigns, information operations, marketing, branding, or related fields. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a history of delivering data-driven research and analysis on complex issues and will excel in a collaborative team setting. You will apply strategic communication principles to understand the communication landscape, analyzing diverse media and communications to identify key themes, discern patterns, and connect them to real-world events. You will work closely with colleagues to generate findings and recommendations that address client challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams focused on strategic communication solutions for government clients.
  • Utilize relevant communication theories, psychological frameworks, and best practices to solve client challenges.
  • Work alongside team members responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining analytical solutions.
  • Prepare and present findings to clients, stakeholders, and partners, including senior government officials and private sector executives.
  • Conduct secondary research and critically evaluate information to identify trends, patterns, and relationships.
  • Monitor and analyze global events relevant to client objectives.
  • Create deliverables that are clear, concise, visually engaging, and effectively communicate results.
  • Act as a primary liaison with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring client needs and priorities are understood and met.
  • Establish and monitor milestones and deadlines in accordance with contractual obligations.
  • Participate in the recruitment process by interviewing candidates and assessing their capabilities.
  • Collaborate closely with the Leadership Team to identify new business opportunities, including proposal and white paper development.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • This position requires on-site work in the Washington Metropolitan Area for a Federal Government client, with occasional domestic travel.
  • A Bachelor's or advanced degree in Communication, Marketing, Psychology, Political Science, or other social science disciplines.
  • Experience requirements vary based on position level:
    • Junior Level: Bachelor's degree with 1-3+ years of relevant experience (or Master's degree with 1+ year of experience).
    • Mid-Level: Master's degree with 1-3+ years of relevant experience (or Bachelor's degree with 3-5+ years of relevant experience).
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities, capable of deriving meaningful and objective conclusions from diverse research sources.
  • Exceptional project management skills, organizational capabilities, problem-solving expertise, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve or exceed expectations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to convey complex concepts effectively.
  • A genuine curiosity and willingness to learn about intricate topics.

Ideal Candidates Will Have

  • Demonstrated professional experience in the Space domain (e.g., space operations, satellite technology, or related fields) and in the defense sector.
  • A current Top Secret security clearance and eligibility for SCI/SAP.
  • A desire to work alongside a growing team of critical thinkers, strategists, researchers, analysts, innovators, and engineers.
  • Prior experience in marketing or communications.
  • Experience handling large data sets and developing/maintaining data pipelines.
  • Experience in designing, implementing, and analyzing experiments.
  • Familiarity with U.S. Government acquisitions and budget management.
  • Experience in a client-facing role, providing insights directly to stakeholders.
