Job Overview

CATHEXIS is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Communications Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our communications team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing strategic communications plans to elevate the government contracting experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic communications plans to create awareness and demonstrate value of VA-sponsored activities and services
  • Research, draft, and edit promotional, informational, and marketing content for various mediums
  • Assist in developing and preparing presentation materials
  • Contribute to the continued development and maintenance of projects
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure implementation alignment
  • Facilitate aggressive timelines and proactively address bottlenecks
  • Ensure efficient and timely production of all project elements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Affairs, or similar field
  • 3+ years' experience in Public Affairs, Communications, or Technical Writing
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and social networking platforms
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience supporting VA, DoD, and/or DHS organizations
  • Experience in project management tools
  • Understanding of the Associated Press Style Guide
