Position Overview:
Conemaugh Miners Medical Center is in search of a dedicated Clinical Laboratory Specialist. This full-time role involves executing a range of moderately complex to highly complex laboratory tests on patients across all age groups, adhering to established guidelines and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
• Utilize technical expertise to uphold procedural quality standards.
• Conduct a variety of laboratory tests, ensuring timely and accurate results.
• Perform calibration quality control and troubleshoot as necessary.
• Monitor quality control measures and assist in data collection for quality assurance.
• Maintain professional development through ongoing education and training.
• Adhere to safety protocols and report any unsafe conditions.
• Execute phlebotomy procedures in accordance with established guidelines.

Qualifications:
Education:
A Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, MLS, or a related field, including completion of a hospital training program or equivalent qualifications as defined by regulatory standards.

Experience:
Preferred candidates will have at least one year of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.

Certification:
Current registration with the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or eligibility for registration is required, along with BLS/CPR certification within six months of employment.

Skills:
• Ability to address patient age-specific needs.
• Strong critical thinking and multitasking abilities.
• Capacity to adhere to detailed procedures accurately.
