As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for assisting the Chef de Cuisine and Sous Chef in ensuring the highest quality food is prepared and presented to our guests.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with the preparation and presentation of high-quality pastry dishes in accordance with established standards.
- Ensure all stations are properly set up and maintained prior to service, and make any necessary adjustments as needed.
- Provide training and guidance to junior staff members to ensure they meet the quality standards of the department.
- Implement and maintain effective food handling, processing, and storage procedures in accordance with our Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) program.
- Maintain excellent customer relations at all times, particularly when interacting with guests in public areas of the hotel.
- Report any food quality concerns or issues to the Chef de Cuisine or Sous Chef to minimize waste and maximize product utilization.
- Assume Chef de Cuisine and Sous Chef responsibilities in their absence, as needed.
- Knowledge of statutory requirements regarding health and safety, sanitation, chemical usage, fire procedures, and HACCP.
- Proficiency in operating all kitchen equipment.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, staff, and guests.
- High school education or equivalent; culinary or apprenticeship program preferred.
