Role Overview

The Velocity Pump Rental Division is on the lookout for an Outside Sales Representative to manage a new regional territory in Western Nebraska. We are in search of a proactive and accomplished sales professional who can identify and cultivate new business opportunities to enhance our market reach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive profitable sales by renting pumps and delivering engineered pumping solutions for both short-term and long-term projects.
  • Develop new rental accounts through proactive outreach and in-person engagements with potential clients.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients and vendors essential to the success of the rental operations.
  • Present comprehensive service offerings to prospective customers.
  • Ensure effective communication of project plans and updates to clients and internal teams.
  • Stay informed about all rental products, pricing, terms, and sales policies.

Qualifications

  • Preferred educational background includes an Associate's, Vocational, or Bachelor's degree in Mechanics, Industrial Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in B2B direct sales within the equipment sector is preferred.
  • Previous experience in the rental industry is advantageous.
  • A background in pump equipment is highly desirable.
  • Experience in selling products with a service component is beneficial.
  • Previous roles in construction management as a foreman or superintendent are a plus.
  • Strong skills in business development and customer retention are essential.

Skills and Abilities

  • Solid understanding of rental processes, customer service, and sales techniques.
  • Proven success in outside sales, preferably in construction or related fields.
  • A robust network of contacts within the construction and contracting industries.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and results-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage your territory.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Google Suite.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Capable of multitasking and prioritizing in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and demands through analytical problem-solving.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 100 pounds.

Work Environment

  • May involve working under extreme weather conditions.
  • Potential exposure to moving machinery and mechanical components.
  • Possible exposure to fumes and hazardous materials.
  • Typical noise levels in the work environment are moderate.

Additional Information

  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
  • Overtime may be necessary on short notice.
  • Travel may be a component of the role.
