Job Overview

Position Summary

The Retail Banking Specialist II will act as the primary representative of First Bank Richmond at our branch locations. This role is essential in nurturing enduring customer relationships while effectively cultivating new connections within our community. Beyond managing daily transactions such as deposits and withdrawals, the Retail Banking Specialist II will also oversee the establishment of new deposit accounts and IRAs as required. This position will support the branch CSR team by handling complex transactions and leveraging their expertise for developmental purposes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Open and manage deposit/IRA accounts and maintain customer records.
  • Process various financial transactions for customers.
  • Respond to customer inquiries about all deposit products and account details.
  • Stay informed about teller, new account, and branch policies and procedures.
  • Serve as the COCE Champion within the branches.
  • Assist in the hands-on training program for Universal Bankers.
  • Review and finalize online account opening applications and onboarding tasks.
  • Process consumer lending applications.
  • Support staff in meeting all branch operational expectations.
  • Verify cash shipments and ensure accurate vault balancing.
  • Maintain and balance cash drawer accurately.
  • Promote and cross-sell the bank's products and services.
  • Develop and maintain a customer portfolio using the Sales Management CRM system.
  • Achieve and sustain 80% of individual sales targets.
  • Assist Universal Banker I with customer interactions and decision-making as necessary.
  • Engage in community involvement initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Demonstrated success as a Universal Banker I.
  • Preferred minimum of 5 years in customer service.
  • Preferred minimum of 3 years in banking.
  • Preferred minimum of 2 years in New Accounts and IRA management.
  • Experience in cash handling.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to proactively and professionally seek new business opportunities.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including Saturdays.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift bags/boxes of coins weighing up to 50 lbs.
