Position Overview

Role Summary

The Universal Banker II acts as the primary representative of First Bank Richmond at our retail locations. This role is essential in nurturing enduring customer connections while effectively cultivating new relationships within the community. Beyond managing routine deposits and withdrawals, the Universal Banker II will also be tasked with opening new deposit accounts and establishing IRAs as necessary. This position will also involve mentoring the branch CSR team by handling elevated transactions and utilizing their expertise as a developmental resource.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Open and manage deposit and IRA accounts along with customer documentation.
  • Process various customer financial transactions.
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding all deposit offerings and account details.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of teller, new account, and branch protocols.
  • Serve as the COCE Champion within the branches.
  • Assist in the hands-on training program for Universal Bankers.
  • Review and finalize online account opening applications and onboarding tasks.
  • Process applications for consumer lending.
  • Support staff in meeting all branch operational expectations.
  • Verify cash shipments and ensure accurate vault balancing.
  • Maintain and accurately balance the cash drawer.
  • Promote and cross-sell the bank's services and products.
  • Develop and sustain a customer portfolio using the Sales Management CRM system.
  • Achieve and uphold 80% of individual sales targets.
  • Assist Universal Banker I with customer interactions and decision-making as required.
  • Engage in community involvement initiatives.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Demonstrated success as a Universal Banker I.
  • Preferred minimum of 5 years in customer service.
  • Preferred minimum of 3 years in banking experience.
  • Preferred minimum of 2 years in New Accounts and IRA experience.
  • Experience in cash handling.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to proactively and professionally solicit new business.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including Saturdays.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift bags or boxes of coins weighing up to 50 lbs.
