Position Overview:
The Business Banking Specialist II (Inside Sales) is tasked with the daily management, execution, and support of both inbound and outbound phone-based retention and sales initiatives within a telephonic environment.
The Specialist will concentrate on proactively preserving and enhancing an established portfolio of intricate and high-net-worth small business owner relationships by retaining and cross-selling additional financial products and services.
It is expected that the Specialist will cultivate relationships that may lead to sourcing additional products and services through proactive outbound phone engagements.
The Specialist should possess a solid understanding of the intricate business cash flow cycle and apply advanced business credit sales techniques during client interactions, utilizing an established multi-touch client contact strategy and sales methodology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage relationships, retention, and growth of the assigned portfolio while acquiring new relationships through leads, referrals, and sales initiatives.
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships through an interaction model to optimally support clients (including Treasury Management Officers, Merchant Services, Business Card Representatives, Market Credit Executives, and Sales Support).
- Demonstrate the ability to multitask effectively in a virtual environment while engaging clients and prospects proactively.
- Efficiently navigate customer relationship management software and other relevant applications simultaneously.
- Utilize the Sales Relationship Management system actively to track calls, pipeline activities, and sales outcomes.
- Maintain a consistent calling schedule on clients and leads to generate high-quality new deposit, treasury, and lending business to meet or exceed targets.
- Exhibit a proficient understanding of the complex business cash flow cycle, including treasury management, operating cash flow, and business financial statements.
- Assess customer needs and recommend alternative products or solutions through defined sales processes.
- Establish rapport with clients and prospects, maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of products and services to effectively understand the business operating model and recommend suitable solutions.
- Refer customers to the appropriate channels for complex Treasury Management and Merchant Service product needs, ensuring follow-up to confirm products/accounts are opened and utilized.
- Understand proper problem resolution and refer service issues to the appropriate support channels.
- Accountable for executing risk management and compliance protocols throughout the sales process and in all client interactions.
- Adhere to all regulatory requirements as well as internal policies and procedures.
- Collaborate on various special projects or initiatives as assigned.
- Hold self and others accountable for demonstrating the company’s values in interactions with peers, clients, direct reports, and supervisors.
Basic Qualifications:
At least 2 years of experience in Business Banking.
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in Business Banking.
1+ year of experience in phone-based sales.
Formal credit training.
