Position Overview

We are currently looking for an Animal Care Technician to become part of our Insourcing Solutions team.

As an Animal Care Technician, your primary responsibility will be to uphold the highest standards of animal welfare while ensuring the cleanliness of the vivarium.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain exceptional standards of animal welfare.
  • Provide nourishment, hydration, and sanitary housing for animals in accordance with established SOPs.
  • Conduct routine health assessments of animals.
  • Monitor environmental conditions, including temperature and humidity, and report any discrepancies to the supervisor or manager.
  • Receive, unpack, and appropriately house animals following SOP and Animal Receiving Form protocols.
  • Comprehend and adhere to proper room entry protocols and biosafety regulations.
  • Keep accurate records and organize supply areas efficiently.
  • Ensure vivarium cleanliness and manage waste disposal in line with applicable SOPs.

Qualifications

The following qualifications are essential for the Animal Care Technician role:

  • A high school diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • AALAS Certification at the ALAT level is preferred.

The compensation for this position ranges from $20 to $22 USD per hour. Please note that salaries may vary within this range based on various factors, including experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
