Animal Care Specialist I

Position Overview
We are looking for an Animal Care Specialist to become part of our Insourcing Solutions team.
In the role of Animal Care Specialist, you will uphold the highest standards of animal welfare and ensure the cleanliness of the vivarium.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain exemplary standards of animal welfare.
- Provide appropriate food, water, and clean living conditions for animals in accordance with established SOPs.
- Conduct routine health assessments of animals.
- Monitor environmental conditions, including temperature and humidity, and report any discrepancies to the supervisor.
- Manage the receipt, unpacking, and housing of animals following SOPs.
- Comprehend and adhere to proper room entry protocols and biosafety measures.
- Keep precise records and organize supply areas efficiently.
- Ensure the vivarium is kept clean and that waste is disposed of according to SOPs.
Qualifications:
The following are the minimum qualifications for the Animal Care Specialist position:
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- AALAS Certification at the ALAT level is preferred.
The compensation for this position ranges from $20-22 USD per hour. Please note that salaries may vary within this range based on factors such as experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
