Job Summary

The Production Manager will oversee and direct the operational activities of the mining and beneficiation production team at Imerys' Kings Mountain North Carolina Production Site. This role is responsible for creating a safe and positive work environment, ensuring compliance with all internal and external guidelines for product quality, employee safety, environmental compliance, and process equipment optimization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Oversight: Supervise and direct the operational activities of the mining and beneficiation production team.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all internal and external guidelines for product quality, employee safety, environmental compliance, and process equipment optimization.
  • Quality Control: Monitor Quality Control process as it applies to the direct manufacture and packaging of mica.
  • Training and Development: Provide training and support to all Operators.
  • Equipment Management: Monitor all equipment operating parameters to ensure that all Productivity, and Quality parameters are being met.
  • Communication: Prepare and lead daily Safety meeting discussions with the crew at the start of shift.
  • Lab Sample Analysis: Prepare and complete lab sample analysis.
  • Workplace Inspections: Conduct workplace inspections for the assigned area of responsibility and direct the employees to do the same.
  • Incident Reporting: Immediate communication of any and all accidents, incidents, near misses, and significant safety concerns which occur in the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Employee Development: Ensure that all employees in the assigned area of responsibility are fully trained and are following safe work practices.
  • Production Planning: Ensure that the production plan is followed and production rates are maintained.
  • Resource Allocation: Prioritize work for direct reports, and follow packaging priorities.
  • Performance Monitoring: Document and report shift performance in all functional areas of assigned areas of responsibility on a timely basis.
  • Productivity Improvement: Identify and resolve roadblocks to productivity in a timely manner.
  • Escalation: Escalate issues if roadblocks cannot be overcome and if productivity targets will not or cannot be met.
  • Maintenance Coordination: Direct shift maintenance personnel to make repairs and follow up with the Site Manager on longer term repairs.
  • Performance Feedback: Track and trend the performance of the assigned work crew and provide performance feedback as necessary to meet the overall objectives of the department and Plant.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree preferred or relevant experience.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years related experience.
  • Skills: SAP Experience preferred.
