Key Responsibilities:
- Spearhead complex technical design initiatives for electrical power systems in SPARC fusion.
- Develop technical specifications for Medium Voltage and Low Voltage electrical components.
- Oversee electrical work package releases, including equipment lists, drawings, and schematics.
- Utilize core electrical engineering expertise to design Medium Voltage and Low Voltage systems, encompassing switchgear, transformers, reactors, power conversion, cooling systems, and control systems.
- Collaborate with SPARC cross-functional teams, including R&D, physics, construction, manufacturing, drafting, testing, compliance, and commissioning, with a focus on delivering high-quality designs and implementations.
- Support critical procurement contracts and vendor coordination.
- Implement best practices for electrical safety and compliance standards in design and execution.
- Engage in advanced development to innovate in-house electrical power technologies for CFS's future.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, or a Master's degree with at least 6 years of experience in electrical, power systems, and/or power electronics engineering.
- Proven leadership skills in guiding technical teams from concept to implementation in a dynamic environment.
- A strong track record in the design and execution of power systems within the electrical power sector.
- Extensive experience with Medium Voltage and Low Voltage systems, including AC/DC power distribution, power conversion, and energy storage solutions.
- Proficiency in applying complex compliance standards to all designs (IEC, UL, CSA, NEC, etc.).
- Experience in modeling, simulation, and analysis, validated through functional testing.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conducting design reviews and presenting results to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- A results-driven mindset with the ability to influence stakeholders regarding design direction to achieve high-quality product releases.

Preferred Experience:
- A Master's degree in electrical engineering with a focus on power systems and/or power electronics.
- Practical experience in applying electrical engineering skills to construction, manufacturing, testing, and field installations.
- Familiarity with containerized solutions related to energy storage (batteries, capacitors, etc.) is advantageous.
- Knowledge of grounding, bonding, and electromagnetic interference in relation to medium and low voltage equipment is a plus.
- Experience with utility interconnects and managing EPC consultants is beneficial.
- Skills in problem-solving, root cause analysis, and field containment actions.
- Hands-on experience with prototype development, testing, and documentation is preferred.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks that may require extended periods of standing or sitting.

Work Environment:
This position may involve working in environments with industrial hazards, including heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead, high voltage, high current, pressure systems, and cryogenics.

Company Values:
At CFS, we prioritize integrity, execution, impact, and self-critique. We are committed to building a diverse team that brings varied perspectives and innovative problem-solving approaches. We are an equal opportunity employer and value all qualified applicants.
