The City of New York is seeking a highly skilled Desktop Support Specialist to join its Information Technology Services (ITS) team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to Windows desktops, laptops, and MAC devices. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of the department's technology infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Windows desktops, laptops, and MAC devices.
  • Install and configure computers and related equipment at HRA locations throughout the five boroughs.
  • Perform tasks as Local Administrator for Windows and MAC OS.
  • Provide technical guidance and assistance to other technicians and microcomputer liaisons.
  • Review and recommend new hardware and software releases for inclusion in the agency's standard configuration.

Requirements:

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college including or supplemented by 24 semester credits in computer science or a related computer field.
  • One year of satisfactory full-time computer software experience in computer systems development and analysis, applications programming, database administration, maintenance and support, systems programming, data communications, mainframe development, mobile development, web development and design.
