Summary:

PRN

Embarking on a journey to develop competencies in assisting Radiologists or Radiology Assistants during both invasive and non-invasive procedures within the Interventional Radiology (IR) lab. Willingness to share on-call responsibilities and flexibility to extend hours as necessary.

Additional Information:

Required Education:

Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college program, technical school, or nursing diploma.

Recommended Education:

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.

Required Work Experience:

No prior experience required.

Recommended Work Experience:

1 year as a Licensed Radiology Technologist in a clinical environment.

Required Certifications:

Basic Life Support CPR for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) - American Heart Association, R.T.(R) - American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT), Radiologic Technologist License (RTL) - Arkansas Department of Health.

Recommended Certifications:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Acquiring skills to support Interventional Radiologists or Radiology Assistants during procedures.
  2. Gaining knowledge regarding the use of all equipment, including emergency tools and supplies.
  3. Ensuring accurate patient identification, diagnosis, and examination. Learning correct and acceptable radiographic positioning and scrubbing techniques.
  4. Developing the ability to effectively communicate procedures to patients and their families.
  5. Understanding the function of all emergency equipment and supplies.
  6. Utilizing appropriate immobilization devices to manage patient movement.
  7. Raising any concerns related to patient care, safety, or satisfaction to the Lead or Supervisor.
  8. Maintaining equipment and requesting service as necessary.
  9. Performing additional duties as assigned.
