Job Summary

Arkansas Urology is seeking a highly skilled and certified Radiologic Technologist to join our Interventional Radiology team. As an Interventional Radiology Technologist, you will play a critical role in assisting physicians during diagnostic, interventional, and therapeutic radiologic and ultrasonic guided imaging procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Physicians during Procedures: Maintain competence in assisting during physician-supervised procedures, ensuring proper sterile preparation of patient access areas, procedure trays, and miscellaneous supplies and devices used during the procedure.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Ensure accurate and timely documentation of the use of contrast material and patient charges, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Professional Competency: Maintain professional, clinical, and technical competency to perform radiologic diagnostic imaging procedures, incorporating access techniques for specific vascular, spinal, neurological, and general chest, abdomen, pelvis, and extremity locations.
  • Education and Training: Complete mandatory educational assignments as provided by the supervisor, nurse manager, or director, ensuring ongoing professional development and growth.
  • Confidentiality and Safety: Maintain a safe and protected work environment, adhering to organizational policies regarding confidentiality, HIPAA, and infection reduction.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure proper cleaning and maintenance of equipment and rooms prior to each procedure, adhering to organizational policies and guidelines.
  • Personal Development: Maintain required state and national licensure as a technologist, certification for life support response, and IV competence, staying up-to-date with industry developments and advancements.
  • Inventory Management: Understand and utilize the inventory tracking system, ordering supplies as needed to ensure efficient workflow and minimize downtime.
  • Radiation Protection: Ensure proper use of personal radiation monitoring devices and adhere to organizational policies regarding radiation protection.
  • Patient Safety: Participate in time-out procedures, post-procedure huddles, and adhere to organizational policies and guidelines related to patient safety.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist Program, registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-(R)), and possessing an Arkansas Radiologic Technology License.
  • Certifications: BLS Certification required; ACLS Certification preferred.
  • Preferred Requirements: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree, 2+ years of broad interventional exposure.
