As a Field Engineer - Tire Performance Specialist at Yokohama Off-Highway Tires America, Inc., you will play a critical role in overseeing product performance in the field and utilizing that knowledge to provide engineering support to customers, the sales department, tire design engineers, and manufacturing personnel based at our global affiliates. Your time will be split between visiting customer locations within the US to understand how our products are being utilized and how they are performing, and planning field evaluations, analyzing claim and test data, reporting, and providing technical support to internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support to field sales staff and customers in the USA
  • Plan, conduct, and report results of field investigations
  • Analyze test and claim data to convey tire performance to internal and external customers as appropriate
  • Identify opportunities for product improvement and advocate for changes
  • Support organization, planning, and conducting training sessions for sales and customers
  • Evaluate use and maintenance conditions to make product recommendations and/or recommendations regarding use and maintenance that will improve product performance
  • Help mentor and direct less experienced field engineers
  • Represent the company in industry associations and standardizing bodies
Requirements:
  • Mechanical and technical aptitude
  • Customer service oriented
  • Background with commercial vehicles and/or tire products or auto industry is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills with strong verbal and written communication
  • Data driven, detail oriented, self-motivated, organized
Education and Experience:
  • BS degree in engineering, math, or science
  • 1-2 years experience
  • Ability to travel 50%
  • Ability to physically manipulate heavy tires, cut tires for analysis, handle large sections of cut tires, manipulate tire and wheel assemblies, and proficiency in utilizing tools and relevant equipment
  • Proficiency in conducting data analysis and creating technical reports
