Are you ready to leverage your expertise in submarine acoustic systems? Amentum is looking for a Submarine Acoustic Systems Specialist to deliver exceptional technical support for the maintenance and enhancement of our advanced submarine fleet.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough technical assessments and implement necessary corrective measures for submarine acoustic systems in line with established Navy Maintenance Procedures.
  • Prepare detailed reports following Technical Assistance Visits, documenting all corrective actions taken.
  • Support the disassembly, reassembly, installation, and testing of BQQ-10 systems across various submarine classes.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on a range of tasks related to the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, and operation of complex electronic and mechanical systems.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients during equipment installation, testing, surveys, and other engineering activities.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering documentation standards, plans, specifications, and testing protocols.
  • Provide technical evaluations and data for components and systems in accordance with engineering layouts and contractual obligations.
  • Serve as a senior technician, mentoring and training junior staff members.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completion of vocational or technical training beyond high school, coupled with a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience.
  • General Experience: A decade of full-time technical experience in the design, installation, testing, or repair of electronic systems.
  • Specialized Experience: At least six (6) years of hands-on engineering experience on submarines, focusing on the operation, maintenance, installation, testing, or repair of SWFTS systems and/or weapons handling equipment.
  • Proven ability to assess the material condition of ship systems and execute corrective actions.
  • Possession of an active secret US government clearance is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience supporting the Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC) is advantageous.
