Senior Submarine Welding Specialist

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Submarine Welder III to join our team at Delphinus Engineering. This role is essential for the proficient assembly and welding of structural and piping systems on US Naval submarines and vessels, as well as for off-hull fabrication tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute shipboard assembly and welding of structural and piping systems to support installation, repair, and maintenance operations.
- Conduct fit-up and welding for off-hull fabrication projects.
- Collaborate with mechanics and pipefitters in the installation of mechanical and piping components.
- Perform welding, installation, repair, and maintenance in accordance with Technical Work Documents, including Quality Assurance Work Books and Maintenance Standards.
- Document inspections and welding activities accurately in the Technical Work Document and on Objective Quality Evidence Forms.
- Select and manage welding filler materials, joint designs, and machine settings per Technical Work Documents and company quality procedures.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Adhere to all relevant safety regulations during work execution.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in welding operations related to installation, repair, and overhaul on US Naval vessels, or completion of a formal training program in a related field.
- Proficiency in SMAW, GTAW, and FCAW welding techniques, as well as Direct Energy Arc Process.
- Experience in structural and pipe welding across various materials, including OSS, HSS, HY-80/100, CRES, CUNI, and NICU.
- Competence in setting up, operating, and adjusting various welding machines and associated tools.
- Preferred experience with submarine systems and SUBSAFE, DSS-SOC, and/or LEVEL I components.
- Familiarity with shipyard and ship repair environments.
- Ability to read and interpret Technical Work Documents and engineering drawings.
- Physical capability to perform tasks including standing, walking, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds regularly.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Must be a US Citizen and able to pass a Criminal Background Check and Drug Screening.
- Current SECRET Level Security Clearance is mandatory.
