About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join our Advanced Inspection Team at Lockheed Martin. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards are met in the inspection and production of complex components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and resolve engineering issues discovered by CMM/PCMM employees, including blueprint changes, model-based definition updates, and operation sheet revisions.
  • Track and resolve SA1230s, SA1358s, and associated DRs with engineering.
  • Utilize front-end database systems, such as Tableau, to analyze data and provide insights for business decisions.
  • Develop and present data-driven recommendations to improve inspection processes and quality outcomes.
  • Review and approve new CMM programs written in PC-DMIS, CAMIO, and Calypso.
  • Interface with collective bargaining agreement employees to diagnose programming and software issues.
  • Assist with testing new software releases and troubleshooting issues.
  • Maintain an updated inventory list of CMM, PCMM, optical comparator, and probing accessories.
  • Create workflow and usage charts and graphs of CMM/PCMM equipment.
  • Assist with the creation and approval of FAI packages and ICLs for production parts.
  • Help coordinate CMM, PCMM, and other equipment calibration with outside vendors.
Requirements
  • 7 years of professional work experience in aerospace engineering or a similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T and drawing interpretations.
  • Experience with 3D modeling software and CMM programming.
  • Knowledge and experience with inspection processes and methods.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and work through complex challenges.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
Desired Skills
  • 5-8 years of programming experience, with at least 2 years of experience with Calypso.
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of GD&T and drawing interpretations.
  • Demonstrated advanced ability to program in at least 2 CMM programming languages.
  • Experience with software control best practices, such as revision control and storage protections.
  • Ability to develop basic automation scripts.
  • Advanced knowledge of CMM components, operation, and maintenance.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with manual inspection gaging and setups.
  • Thorough knowledge of 3D modeling software, such as Catia and 3DX.
  • Effective communication skills, including written, oral, and technical writing.
  • Proficient skill level with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
