Job Summary

This role is responsible for safeguarding Intermountain Healthcare's assets through monthly accounting operations and internal controls, ensuring accurate and compliant financial reporting. The position requires limited management supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the safeguarding of assets and reinforce accounting policies and procedures.
  • Prepare journal entries and review accounting classification in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Assist in the month-end close, including the review of financial statements, with responsibility for the month-end close of a business unit.
  • Understand and explain variances to budget.
  • Reconcile, analyze, and review complex revenues, expenses, and balance sheet accounts.
  • Generate ad hoc accounting reports as needed.
  • Provide accounting support to internal and external customers.
  • Accountable for timely and accurate completion of assigned tasks.
  • Act as an accounting technical resource to others.
  • May have responsibility for coordinating and reviewing accounting work of others.
  • Assist with preparation of audit schedules.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, with two years of entry-level professional accounting experience. Alternatively, a Master's degree without experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA
  • Master's of Accountancy
Physical Requirements
  • Interact with others requiring the ability to communicate information.
  • Operate computers and other IT equipment requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.
  • See and read computer monitors and documents.
  • Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.
