Role Summary:
As a Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible for delivering diagnostic imaging services in a clinical environment, while also performing necessary administrative tasks. Your work will contribute to a collaborative team atmosphere and align with the mission and values of Kaiser Permanente Northwest.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting diagnostic radiological procedures using advanced imaging equipment. This includes routine, emergency, portable, surgical, and fluoroscopic examinations, adhering to departmental protocols.
  • Managing image processing and utilizing the current Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS). Collaborating with radiologists for film quality assurance and exam clarifications as needed.
  • Handling patient transport, filing tasks, and maintaining inventory of supplies. Responsible for patient registration and scheduling.
  • Participating in an on-call or standby schedule as required. Additional duties may be assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: N/A
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Licensure and Certification: Registered Radiologic Technologist (Washington) or Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist License (Oregon) is necessary.
  • Basic Life Support certification within one month of hire.
  • Radiologic Technologist Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is required at the time of hire.
Additional Skills:
  • Daily operation of diagnostic imaging equipment and healthcare computer systems.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with all staff members.
  • Proficient understanding of radiology equipment and procedures for fluoroscopy, DXA, surgical, portable, and routine radiographic exams.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in performing general radiographic exams with digital technology within the last three years.
  • Strong organizational skills, including time management, prioritization, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to policies and procedures and demonstrate flexibility.
  • Familiarity with McKesson PACS and EPIC electronic medical records systems.
  • An Associate's degree in Radiologic Science or a related field is preferred.
