As a Radiologic Technologist, your primary responsibility will be to operate assigned imaging equipment to capture diagnostic images of patients.
Key Responsibilities:- Patient Imaging: Conduct thorough patient screenings prior to examinations, ensuring the correct identification and procedure.
- Patient Preparation: Clearly explain imaging procedures to patients, positioning them appropriately for optimal imaging results.
- Imaging Procedures: Execute both routine and advanced imaging techniques on specified body areas, assisting physicians in diagnosing and treating illnesses or injuries while minimizing the need for repeat scans.
- Technical Adjustments: Adjust imaging parameters as necessary, employing dose reduction techniques to ensure patient safety.
- Collaboration: Maintain a positive working relationship with radiologists, referring physicians, and colleagues.
- Compliance: Adhere strictly to physicians' orders and safety regulations to protect yourself, patients, and coworkers.
- Record Keeping: Accurately document patient information within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
- Work Environment: Keep a clean and organized workspace, promoting safety for patients and staff.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure imaging equipment is well-maintained and disinfected after each use.
- Regulatory Compliance: Follow all HIPAA guidelines and maintain accreditation requirements.
- Assist in maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades.
- Monitor and manage medical supply inventory.
- Support the training of new staff by providing technical guidance.
