Residency Program Coordinator

Howard University Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and organized individual to serve as a Residency Program Coordinator in our Ophthalmology department. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our residency program.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the recruitment process for postgraduate training, including screening applicants and scheduling interviews.
- Provide administrative support throughout the recruitment process, including maintaining files on applicants.
- Ensure medical students and post-graduates with visas maintain their immigration status throughout the training process.
- Maintain all required paperwork for international medical graduates and post-graduates to ensure compliance with federal, state, and hospital rules and regulations.
- Coordinate orientation and re-orientation activities for new and returning resident physicians.
- Serve as a liaison between licensure and medical boards, residency review committees, medical schools, affiliated hospitals, and other departments within the hospital and university.
- Perform various administrative tasks, including responding to correspondence, screening telephone calls, and providing information on administrative and procedural matters.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Health Services Administration, or three years of substance administrative experience, preferably in an academic environment or accreditation training program.
