Nurse Residency Program

Mercy Washington's ICU Residency Program is a fast-paced and dynamic environment that provides top-quality care to patients. As a new graduate nurse, you will have the opportunity to work alongside a team of dedicated and experienced nurses who are passionate about delivering exceptional patient care.
The ICU Residency Program is designed to provide new graduate nurses with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in a critical care setting. Our program includes comprehensive training, mentorship, and support to help you develop into a confident and competent ICU nurse.

To be eligible for the ICU Nursing Residency Program, you must:
- Be a graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Hold a current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure
- Meet all state board of nursing requirements
The ICU Nursing Residency Program requires individuals to:
- Push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Stand and walk for prolonged periods each shift
- Perform duties that require gripping, reaching, bending, kneeling, twisting, and squatting
The ICU Nursing Residency Program requires certifications in:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- Other unit-specific certifications as required or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe
