Summary : Residence Life Coordinators RLC - 2 Openings at Washington & Jefferson College are student centered professional staff members within the Office of Residence Life that are responsible for fostering a supportive, inclusive, and learning focused experience within campus residence halls.

Residence Life Coordinators report to the Director of Residence Life and work collaboratively to achieve a wide range of departmental, divisional, and institutional goals through direct service to students living on campus.

This is an in-person, full-time, 12-month, live-in position.

Duties & Responsibilities

Residence Life Coordinators are responsible for the following core duties at Washington & Jefferson College:

Oversees the daily housing operation of campus residence halls within a defined area of campus First-year student housing, Theme housing, Upper-class student housing that house 300-500 students.

Provides leadership and facilitates major campus housing initiatives including move-in,

winter hall closing, spring semester hall opening, and end of the academic year closing.

Supervises and trains a staff of Resident Assistants Implements the Residential Learning & Engagement Framework within the defined campus housing area and through department wide programs.

Provides a high level of direct support to students and collaborates with faculty and staff to make appropriate referrals while using appropriate communication and documentation tools Prez Pathways, Maxient, CARE team referral.

Facilitates weekly RA staff team and one-to-one meetings.

Works collaboratively with campus partners to support departmental, divisional, and college-wide initiatives.

Serves as a member of the Administrator On-Call team that responds to urgent and emergency student needs on campus.

Other duties as assigned.


In addition to the above Residence Life Coordinators take on the leadership of one or more of the

following responsibilities within the Office of Residence Life:

Resident Assistant Staff Selection & Training

Residential Learning & Engagement Framework Initiatives

Housing Selection & Campus Wide Housing Operations

Student Support & Response Management


Qualifications

Education & Professional Experience

Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred; preferred.

Supervisory Duties

The Residence Life Coordinator position is responsible for the supervision of paraprofessional staff Resident Assistants.
