Job Summary

VCU Health - MCV Physicians is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Genetics Specialist to join our team. As a Clinical Geneticist, you will be responsible for providing expert care to patients with genetic conditions across the lifespan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Education: Contribute to the clinical supervision and education of residents, medical students, genetic counseling graduate students, and ancillary staff.
  • Research and Scholarship: Engage in research through presentations at national meetings, contributions to peer-reviewed scientific literature, and active participation in professional organizations.
  • Service and Collaboration: Participate in regional and national conferences with clinical colleagues and contribute to departmental, institutional, and national committees.
  • Clinical Practice: Provide expert care to patients in various clinics and settings, including telemedicine, and share call and consultative responsibilities with other Clinical Genetics physicians.
Requirements
  • MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent degree with Board eligibility/certification by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ABMGG).
  • Qualified for full, unrestricted medical licensure in Virginia.
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • AMBGG certification in Clinical Biochemical Genetics.
  • Clinical experience and an interest in research and scholarly activity.
