A Typical Day:

The Manager of Technical and Lease Accounting will oversee the organization's lease accounting operations while also supporting the technical accounting team in analyzing the accounting treatment for various transactions, including but not limited to debt instruments, securitizations, derivatives, and agreements with customers and suppliers.

The anticipated starting salary is approximately $107k; however, the final salary will be based on relevant work experience.


Key Responsibilities:
Lease Accounting Supervise the lease accounting close and reporting processes, ensuring adherence to U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and company policies for accurate and timely financial reporting. Oversee lease accounting functions and activities, including legal document assessments, classification evaluations, and measurement adjustments. Provide direct supervision and mentorship to staff, aiding in their professional growth.

Evaluate journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, roll forwards, flux analyses, and disclosures to guarantee the precise and timely processing of financial transactions and reporting.

Investigate and analyze issues and inquiries, offering guidance to staff in resolving challenges.

Technical Accounting:
Collaborate with internal business partners on transactions (as mentioned above) to ensure appropriate accounting and reporting practices. Advise and consult with management on emerging accounting and regulatory standards (e.g., SEC, and FASB).

Assist in reviewing the organization's external financial reporting documents, including Forms 10-Q, 10-K, S-1, 8-K, Prospectus, and Prospectus Supplements.

Conduct research on technical accounting and reporting issues, drafting accounting memos and research papers. Communicate policy and technical matters throughout the organization, including senior management. Engage with internal and external auditors regarding technical accounting and reporting issues.

Qualifications:
Experience in an audit firm is preferred. A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required. Four to six years of progressive accounting experience is necessary. Experience with ASC 842 lease accounting is preferred. Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations is essential. Prior experience with enterprise general ledger accounting systems (Oracle Cloud preferred) is advantageous.

Experience with CoStar or similar lease management software is preferred. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are necessary. A commitment to process enhancement is expected. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to the evolving priorities and needs of both internal and external stakeholders is crucial. Capability to effectively engage with internal and external auditors is required. Proven leadership experience, along with excellent interpersonal skills, is essential. A collaborative team player, skilled at building relationships across the organization. Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities are necessary.
