The Lead Financial Accountant will oversee the financial accounting and reporting functions of the organization, playing a crucial role in our financial oversight. This position requires close collaboration with the Senior Financial Accounting Manager to manage the general ledger. The role supports a hybrid work model, requiring in-office presence several days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of financial reporting and general ledger management within a multi-entity framework, including consolidations, while adhering to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Ensure precise coding and authorization of all revenue, expenses, intercompany transactions, and journal entries to their designated accounts.
  • Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, including journal entries and accruals, in compliance with GAAP, while preparing analyses against historical data and budgets.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Financial Accounting Manager to provide accurate and timely financial reporting, including financial statements, cash flow analyses, and variance reports.
  • Assist in the management of non-routine reporting transactions.
  • Conduct monthly account reconciliations to guarantee accurate reporting and maintain the general ledger, including reconciling assigned balance sheet and income statement accounts.
  • Identify and address process or control deficiencies independently.

Essential Qualifications:

  • 5-7+ years of relevant accounting experience, ideally within the Medical Device sector.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
  • Experience with Big 4 or public accounting firms is preferred.
  • CPA certification is highly desirable.
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP and proficiency in reconciling balance sheet accounts.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical thinking skills.
  • Strong communication abilities, capable of presenting financial information clearly to diverse audiences.
