Key Responsibilities:
1. **Support University Departments:**
- Assist in the management of fringe benefits and payroll expenses.
- Investigate and resolve inquiries related to financial transactions.
- Process necessary journal entries and fulfill information requests from central offices.

2. **Financial Reporting Tasks:**
- Prepare and analyze journal entries and related calculations.
- Develop audit schedules and conduct variance analyses.
- Draft footnote disclosures and undertake special projects as needed.

3. **Student Finance Support:**
- Conduct analyses and reporting on student financial aid funds.
- Prepare requests for financial aid draws and administrative costs.
- Provide necessary financial data for federal reporting requirements.

4. **Fringe Benefit Rate Development:**
- Perform financial analyses related to fringe benefits and payroll costs.
- Initiate journal entries and adjustments to financial statements.
- Collaborate across departments to ensure accuracy in financial processes.

5. **Journal Entry Management:**
- Prepare and approve departmental journal entries.
- Communicate effectively with departments to resolve issues.

6. **Balance Sheet Analysis:**
- Prepare and review balance sheet account analyses as assigned.

Qualifications:
Required:
- Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Proven analytical skills to assess detailed processes and transactions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in advanced spreadsheet and database applications.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting with five years of relevant experience.

Preferred:
- Experience in financial reporting within non-profit or higher education sectors.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and related reporting tools.
- CPA certification is advantageous.
