Job Overview

Position Summary:

Catholic Charities is in search of a dedicated full-time case manager committed to supporting children and families in maintaining unity and fostering healthy, supportive relationships. The Intact Family Services initiative collaborates with families who have come under the scrutiny of child protective services due to allegations of abuse or neglect. The primary objective of this initiative is to preserve the family unit, avoiding the need for children to enter the foster care system. The case manager partners with families to create a tailored service plan that addresses specific concerns and improves overall family dynamics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the needs of families and carry out general case management tasks and interventions for those requiring child welfare assistance.
  • Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of intricate family dynamics and effectively engage families in valuable services.
  • Participate in training focused on child welfare practices, case management strategies, and relevant laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate in-home visits with family members and all relevant parties involved in each case.
  • Facilitate conflict resolution when challenges arise.
  • Observe and assess family interactions and overall functioning.
  • Document all case management activities meticulously.
  • Develop and implement service plans.
  • Provide educational resources and training to parents.
  • Attend court proceedings as necessary and prepare all required documentation.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related discipline.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of family systems and local social service resources.
  • Possession of reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and compliance with auto insurance requirements.
